We have been invited to present a planter and hanging basket at Market Rasen Garden Fair, so Y6 visited Horncastle Garden Centre to choose plants.
We are working along our Mexican theme, and so chose a lot of plants that would work with that. The children chose cacti( one wearing a sombrero, now called David!), succulents, Dahlias, a Pineapple plant and others that fit with the bright colours associated with the Day of the Dead festival.
We worked out what would go together and how they would look in the planter. Next week we will get everything planted up and ready for the fair.
Amazingly, we came away without a Buddha statue, a water fountain or any wildlife despite the boys best efforts!
