The children in Class 3 were asked the question ‘Do all body parts grow at the same rate?’ as part of our Science Week Growth project.
Lots of discussion, along with measuring, calculating ages in days and teamwork followed. Great fun with lots of laughter and chat in the classroom.
The children all had to remember to use centimetres not inches, learn how to measure accurately, realising tape measures sometimes aren’t as long as the children themselves ( it turned out most of the staff didn’t have that problem, much to the children’s delight!), devise a chart for temporary recording and then log their results independently on Mrs Haslam’s computer.
They were interested to learn their own height was about the same as their arm span. A lively morning’s work
