19th October 2016 – Woodside Wildlife Park
We have had the best trip at Woodside – James gave us a very knowledgeable tour of the animals, we also watched the Amazing Animal Show and (most of us) enjoyed the handling of the reptiles (the children were very brave!). Thank you to Mrs Smith, Mrs Smith and Mrs Emmerson for coming with us.
May 2016 – National Space Centre, Leicester
We had an amazing time on our school trip!
Can you spot your astronaut?
We explored every part of the museum and absolutely loved the planetarium show!
We’ve had great fun at the start of our term learning about space. We received our seeds from space and we’ve been looking after them very carefully.
We created our own company…. SPACEY PLANTS!
We’ve also been finding out about the planets and how they move in space.
Then we created our own space pastel pictures.
We’ve been very busy learning about the ocean.
A visit from Paul, an ex submariner who answered all our questions about submarines.
We also had a visit from fishing experts from class 4!
We did Sports Relief and ran a mile, played cricket and then did nearly an hour of aerobics! Phew!!!!
We’ve done all sorts of work!
Wednesday 2nd March – The Deep Trip
We visited the deep and had a lot of fun! We saw a variety of sea life and were able to use what we’d learnt already to understand what we were looking at! First the children had to crack the crime…..who ate all the baby parrot fish, they were great detectives and used the clues to crack the case…. They used microscopes, computers and magnifying glasses to help them. After that they explored the exhibits, which was great fun. They ended the day in the gift shop…another highlight of their day! The children were an absolute credit to the school and I am proud to be their teacher.
The children have enjoyed learning about the oceans and the creatures which live under the sea. We have been observing and exploring fish….including real mackerel and sea bream…. After looking at the external features of the fish, the children asked to look inside…. Which we did…. It was a bit smelly and it made some of us feel a bit squeamish!
Enjoying trying food for Chinese New Year. We tried a lot of unusual flavours, including seaweed!
Class 3 enjoyed planting the bulbs that have been donated by Caistor in Bloom.
Class 3 enjoyed visiting the old fire engine after our Fire Safety talk….. even if we did get a bit wet.
